Zombie Driver

Zombie Driver is a vehicular combat video game set in a zombie apocalypse environment. A chemical accident and a secret government project have turned the inhabitants of a city into shambling, aggressive enemies. The player must undertake various missions to rescue stranded civilians, slaughter zombies, and unlock/upgrade various vehicles.

It was later released as Zombie Driver HD on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Ouya game consoles, and Steam, and as Zombie Driver: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One. The Nintendo Switch version was released as Zombie Driver: Immortal Edition, and the PlayStation 4 version with the same name was released on August 14, 2020.

The game received average reviews upon release. Critics noted the game’s repetitiveness, untapped potential, and length. Total PC Gaming reviewed it as "Good fun until the novelty wears off, which doesn’t take that long." The game holds a Metacritic score of 60 and a user score of 6.2.

Zombie Driver HD received similar mixed reviews when it was first released on consoles. Gamingnexus compared the gameplay to "a cross between Grand Theft Auto 2 and Choplifter" and praised it for its low price point. The game has a Metacritic score of 62 and a user score of 5.1 on Xbox 360. The Steam version holds a "Very Positive" user rating from over 2,514 reviews.

Zombie Driver: Immortal Edition received positive reviews upon its release on Nintendo Switch in 2019. Switch Player praised the game’s longevity, calling it "this petrol-fueled indie hit has aged extremely well, delivering a healthy mix of speed, blood, and apocalyptic destruction." However, even in its latest form, the game is still criticized for its repetitive nature, with Cogconnected noting "Zombie Driver is bad in almost every conceivable way."
