Zombie Hunter Rika | 2008

Zombie Hunter Rika

The movie "Zombie Hunter Rika" was released in Japan on February 18, 2008. Filming took place in June 2007, and the original working title was "The Strongest High School Girl Rika VS The Deadliest Zombie Glorian." The movie's tagline was, "After school, I'll kill zombies..." and it was screened in a limited run at Uplink Factory for six days. The main filming location was in Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture, and due to its zombie theme, parts of the film were shot in real-life haunted spots. Action scenes involving zombie hordes featured intense sword fights and combat choreography.

Rika, an ordinary high school student, skips school one day and heads to a town where her grandfather, Ryuhei, had left two years earlier. When she arrives, she finds the town overrun by zombies. After narrowly escaping, she reaches her grandfather's vacation home, only to be attacked by zombies. Witnessing this, Ryuhei, a genius surgeon, performs a special surgery on Rika, turning her into the enhanced "RIKA," a deadly weapon with extraordinary combat abilities. Now, as the ultimate high school girl soldier, Rika joins forces with Daisuke and Yuji to confront Glorian, the leader of the zombie horde, in a battle to the death.
